Our mission clearly states our commitment to sharing responsibility for the world in which we operate. TNT values the recognition it receives for its efforts as it is testimony to the significant effort we put into corporate responsibility.
Dow Jones Sustainability Index
The Dow Jones Sustainability Index is the first global index tracking the financial performance of the leading sustainability-driven companies worldwide. The index provides reliable and objective benchmarks for sustainability performance. Since its inclusion in the Index in 2005, TNT has consistently been named as global 'Sector leader' in the 'Industrial transportation' sector. Since 2007, the company has also achieved the position of 'Supersector leader' of the larger 'Industrial Goods and Services' category. Moreover, TNT reached the highest score of all companies included in the DJSI in the years 2007, 2008, 2009.
Accountancy Award
We were delighted to win the Dutch Accountancy Award 2007 for our 2006 social responsibility report. The jury praised the report for the comprehensiveness of the information, its limited size, the business-like tone of voice by 'sticking to the point’.
GovernanceMetrics International
In 2008 TNT maintained for the third year in a row the highest rating for best-in-class corporate governance standards in a review performed by GovernanceMetrics International. Along with only 41 other companies TNT achieved an overall rating of 10 on a scale of 1 to 10 in this survey covering over 4.200 companies worldwide. The average rating in 2008 for companies in the Netherlands was 6.4 and for companies in the industrial transportation sector 5.5.
