      <description>Amsterdam, TNT sees a basis for further discussion in the proposals put forward by research agency Ecorys in its report, with cutbacks in conditions of employment remaining necessary to safeguard jobs. On behalf of the trade unions ABVAKABO FNV, BVPP and CNV Publieke Zaak, Ecorys looked into alternative solutions for the requisite cost savings at TNT Post. The unions commissioned the study after the in-principle agreement on the Operations Collective Labour Agreement was jointly rejected by the union members in late April 2009.</description>

Together with the pioneering consortium partners ABN AMRO, Delta, Essent, Facilicom, the Municipality of Rotterdam, the Municipality of Leeuwarden, ING, JCDecaux, the Dutch Ministry of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment, the Dutch Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management, NUON, Philips, Port of Rotterdam, the Province of Friesland and Triodos Bank today almost 3000 cars were ordered. For this purpose, a new independent purchasing consortium of Dutch companies and organisations has been established under the supervision of the Urgenda Foundation. The consortium's objective is to challenge car manufacturers to manufacture electronic transport on a large scale by creating a large scale, continuous and substantial demand. Companies and organisations are invited to participate in the tender.</description>

The survey asked some 23,000 employees for their views on a number of key issues regarding their future and that of the company. The results show that 74% of the 7,683 respondents would choose to forfeit working conditions in return for a job guarantee and/or a package of transitional measures. The company management and the Works Council will discuss the matter with the parties to the collective labour agreement.</description>

      <title>TNT opens road hub in Wuhan, China</title>
